Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive special school based in the Selly Oak area of Birmingham. This is a full-time role starting in September 2026 and continuing through until December 2026, with the potential for extension for the right candidate.
The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs including ASC, speech and language difficulties, cognition and learning needs, and complex communication needs. The successful candidate will be confident in adapting lessons, managing behaviour positively, and creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
This role will include full teaching responsibilities, including planning, preparation, and assessment (PPA). The successful candidate will be expected to plan engaging lessons tailored to individual needs, track pupil progress, and contribute towards EHCP outcomes and target setting.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Have previous experience working within SEN or specialist settings
- Be confident supporting children with a range of additional needs
- Have experience with planning, assessment, and differentiated learning
- Be patient, resilient, and adaptable in their approach
- Work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Be available full time from September 2026
