Description
A welcoming primary school in Aston, Birmingham is looking for an organised, reliable and experienced School Administrator to join their team through a supply agency.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who is confident working in a busy school environment and has hands-on experience using SIMS.
The Role
As a School Administrator, you will provide effective day-to-day administrative support to the school, working closely with staff, pupils, parents/carers and external professionals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing general school administration and office duties.
- Using SIMS confidently to maintain and update pupil records.
- Managing pupil attendance and absence records.
- Responding to telephone calls, emails and enquiries from parents/carers.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential pupil information.
- Supporting the processing of admissions, transfers and pupil data.
- Producing reports and correspondence as required.
- Assisting with school registers, attendance monitoring and data management.
- Providing a welcoming and professional first point of contact for visitors and families.
- Supporting the wider school team with administrative tasks.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must have previous experience using SIMS within a school setting.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience working in a school administration or similar educational setting.
- Strong, recent SIMS experience – essential.
- Excellent IT and administrative skills.
- Experience managing confidential information and maintaining accurate records.
- Good knowledge of school office procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy school environment.
- A professional, friendly and approachable manner.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider school team.
