CERT Solutions are working with a welcoming one-form entry primary school in Handsworth who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 6 Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or a confident ECT looking for a long-term part-time teaching role, working every Thursday and Friday. The position is expected to continue at least until Christmas 2026, with the potential for further extension.

The Role

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons to a Year 6 class, supporting pupils in their academic progress and preparing them for the transition to secondary school. You will work closely with the school’s staff team to ensure consistency and continuity across the week.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Have strong classroom management skills.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
  • Work effectively as part of a small and supportive school team.
  • Be committed to maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement.

Requirements:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Year 6
  • DBS on Update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Available from September to December
