Description
We are seeking a passionate and adaptable teacher to join a welcoming specialist setting on a part-time basis (3 days per week) to cover a maternity leave until June/July 2027.
This unique opportunity would suit a SEND Teacher or a teacher with experience supporting pupils with additional needs who has a genuine interest in cooking and developing life skills. You do not need to be a qualified Food Technology teacher, as the cooking curriculum is practical and accessible, with the emphasis placed on building positive relationships and engaging students in meaningful learning.
The Role
- Deliver engaging cooking and life skills lessons to more able students within a specialist setting.
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs through a nurturing and inclusive approach.
- Encourage independence, confidence and practical skills.
- Work collaboratively with a supportive team and be willing to learn and adapt to the needs of the school.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience.
- Experience working within SEND or a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- A love of cooking and an enthusiasm for practical learning.
- Flexible, patient and able to build strong relationships with students.
- Keen to develop new skills and contribute positively to the wider school community.
