CERT Solutions are currently working with a lovely two form-entry primary school located in the heart of Birmingham city centre to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher. This is a long-term supply position starting as soon as possible and running through until December 2026, offering stability and the chance to make a real impact within a supportive school community.
As the full-time class teacher, you will take on complete teaching and curriculum responsibilities. This includes planning, preparation, assessment, and managing the classroom environment to ensure every child thrives during a crucial stage of their early development.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1 (Year 1).

Maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and good behavior.

Monitor, assess, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and regular updates to parents and senior leadership.

Collaborate effectively with year-group partners, teaching assistants, and the wider school staff.

Fully participate in school life, including staff meetings and relevant professional development.
Requirements:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized UK teaching qualification.

Recent experience teaching Key Stage 1 (specifically Year 1), with a strong understanding of phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc. or Letters and Sounds).

A proactive, adaptable approach with excellent classroom management skills.

Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through the agency).
