CERT Solutions are recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school supporting pupils with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties and complex communication needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs to access education and achieve positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Providing classroom support on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Supporting pupils with Autism and complex learning needs
- Assisting with communication, social development and engagement
- Delivering interventions under the guidance of the class teacher
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
- Encouraging independence and confidence
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A minimum of 6 months’ experience working with children or young people with SEND
- A relevant qualification such as:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning
- CACHE Level 2 or 3
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 Childcare
- Health & Social Care Level 2 or 3
- Psychology Degree
- Education Studies Degree
- Youth Work Qualification
- Other relevant SEND-related qualifications
- Experience supporting Autism or complex learning needs
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
