CERT Solutions are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to work within a specialist school in the Handsworth area of Birmingham, supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about delivering personalised learning and helping pupils with significant additional needs develop their communication, independence and life skills.
The Role:
- SEN Teacher required for a specialist school in Handsworth
- Working with pupils with PMLD and complex needs
- Full-time, long-term opportunity
- Planning and delivering highly differentiated, sensory-based learning activities
- Supporting pupils with communication, physical and medical needs
- Developing individual learning targets and monitoring progress
- Working alongside experienced teaching assistants and other professionals
The Ideal Candidate:
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience working within a special school setting
- Experience supporting pupils with PMLD, SLD or complex needs
- Understanding of sensory learning and communication strategies
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton or other alternative communication methods would be beneficial
- Patient, nurturing and confident adapting teaching to individual needs
