We are currently recruiting 6 dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and supportive primary-aged special school in the Selly Oak area. These roles will begin on a supply basis, with the opportunity to move into permanent positions from September for the right candidates.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and are looking for a long-term career within a specialist setting.

The Role:

  • Supporting primary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including:
  • Speech and Language difficulties
  • Cognition and Learning needs
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Some challenging behaviour
  • Working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored support
  • Helping to create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment
  • Supporting both academic development and social/emotional needs

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (school or care setting)
  • A level 2 or 3 in childcare or health and social care
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
  • Able to commit to full-time hours (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
  • Team player with strong communication skills
