Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive special school in Oldbury who are seeking a committed KS1 Class Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is looking to take on the full responsibilities of a class teacher within a specialist setting. The successful candidate will be expected to plan engaging lessons, prepare resources, assess pupils’ progress, mark work, complete reports, and work collaboratively with support staff and the wider school team.

The Role

  • Full-time KS1 Class Teacher position.
  • Long-term commitment from September.
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Complete all planning, preparation, marking, and assessment responsibilities.
  • Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and other professionals to support pupils’ development.

The Pupils

You will be teaching primary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

The school is looking for a teacher who is patient, adaptable and committed to helping every child reach their full potential through creative and personalised learning.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within KS1 or primary education.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, particularly SLD and ASC, is highly desirable.
  • A caring, resilient and flexible approach.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
