Are you a qualified SEN Teacher with QTS who is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of children and young people?

CERT Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Erdington. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated teacher who understands the unique needs of pupils within a specialist setting and can create an engaging, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

The successful candidate must have experience working with pupils with MLD, SLD, Autism, SEMH and SLCN.

About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting pupils to achieve their full potential. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons while adapting your approach to meet a wide range of individual learning and developmental needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering creative, engaging and differentiated lessons
  • Supporting pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Creating a calm, structured and positive classroom environment
  • Adapting teaching approaches to suit individual learning styles and abilities
  • Supporting pupils with their academic, social, emotional and personal development
  • Managing behaviour positively and consistently
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Monitoring pupil progress and adapting learning accordingly
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and other professionals
  • Supporting pupils to develop confidence, independence and life skills

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS – this is essential
  • Have proven experience working within an SEN or specialist school environment
  • Have experience supporting pupils with MLD, SLD, Autism, SEMH and SLCN
  • Have a strong understanding of personalised and differentiated teaching
  • Be confident managing challenging behaviour and complex needs
  • Be patient, resilient and adaptable
  • Have excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Be passionate about improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs
  • Be committed to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
