An established and welcoming primary school in Harborne is seeking an experienced Year 6 Class Teacher to join their team from after February half term until the end of July 2026.

CERT Solutions are recruiting on behalf of the school and are looking for a strong Upper Key Stage 2 practitioner who can step into this pivotal role during the most important term of the academic year. The successful candidate will be confident, organised and experienced in preparing pupils for SATs and the transition to secondary school.

Please note: Unfortunately, this role is not suitable for ECTs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full class teaching responsibilities for a Year 6 class
  • Planning, delivering and assessing high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Preparing pupils for end-of-Key Stage 2 SATs
  • Using assessment data to identify gaps and deliver targeted interventions
  • Marking and providing effective feedback in line with school policy
  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom management
  • Attending staff meetings, parent consultations and relevant school events
  • Supporting pupils’ pastoral needs and ensuring a positive end to their primary education
  • Working collaboratively with the Year 6 team and senior leaders

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2
  • A strong track record of raising attainment in Year 6
  • Experience delivering SATs preparation and booster sessions
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • The ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A proactive and professional approach
