CERT Solutions are working with a vibrant special school in South Birmingham who are looking for a creative and hands-on SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with sensory needs, Autism and limited verbal communication. If you enjoy working in a sensory-rich environment, using visuals, music, objects of reference and communication aids like PECS and Makaton, this is the role for you!
📍 Location: Birmingham (South)
📅 Start Date: September 2025
🕒 Type: Full-time | Long-term
In this role, you’ll:
- Support students in a sensory and communication-focused classroom
- Use creative tools and routines to engage learners
- Work closely with therapists and experienced teaching staff
- Support students emotionally, physically, and academically
What we’re looking for:
- SEN experience – particularly autism or PMLD
- Familiarity with sensory needs and non-verbal communication
- A positive, patient and adaptable attitude
- A relevant childcare qualification is desirable
