We are looking for a skilled and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a secondary special school in Erdington, supporting students with a primary diagnosis of Autism. This is an ASAP start role and ideal for someone who can commit to full-time hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups to access learning and participate in lessons.
  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and adapting resources to meet individual needs.
  • Supporting students with challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
  • Providing personal care as required, supporting students’ daily routines.
  • Promoting independence, communication, and social development.
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver tailored support plans.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in an SEN setting, preferably with students on the autism spectrum.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour confidently and safely.
  • Willingness to provide personal care where required.
  • Commitment to a full-time position.
  • Available to start ASAP.
  • DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).

Pay: £90 – £100 per day, depending on experience.
