CERT Solutions are working with a fantastic special school in Erdington to find a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a KS3 class full-time from January 2026.
You’ll be based with one class throughout the day, providing consistent support and helping to meet pupils’ individual needs. Makaton is used across the class to aid communication, and the team will support you with training if needed.
📍 Location: Erdington, Birmingham
📅 Start Date: January 2026
🕒 Type: Full-time | Long-term
In this role, you’ll:
- Work alongside teaching staff in a KS3 classroom
- Support pupils with Autism and Complex Needs
- Use or support communication with Makaton
- Help create a positive, structured learning environment
What we’re looking for:
- Previous special school experience is essential
- Confidence or willingness to use Makaton
- A team player with strong SEN awareness
- A relevant childcare qualification is desirable
