CERT Solutions are currently recruiting for passionate and dedicated SEN Teachers to work in schools across Handsworth and the surrounding areas.
We are looking for QTS qualified SEN Teachers who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
We have a variety of opportunities available, including full time and part time positions, long term placements and day-to-day supply work, offering flexibility to suit your availability and career goals.
The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher with QTS and ideally have experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
Experience across all the above areas is not essential, but candidates with a strong understanding of these needs and experience adapting their teaching to support individual pupils will be highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
As an SEN Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet individual pupil needs.
- Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support pupils with a range of learning needs.
- Support pupils’ academic, social, emotional and personal development.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress and adapt provision accordingly.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs and other professionals.
- Develop positive relationships with pupils and encourage their confidence and independence.
- Maintain high expectations while recognising and celebrating individual achievements.
What We’re Looking For
- QTS qualification
- Experience working within an SEN setting is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting pupils with MLD, SLD, ASC and/or PMLD is advantageous.
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach to teaching.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- The ability to differentiate effectively and respond to individual needs.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
- Reliability and a commitment to providing high-quality teaching.

CERT Solutions is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to obtain an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the DBS and be required to complete and pass Safeguarding and Prevent training level 2.
