An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Wednesbury. This full-time, long-term role is available immediately and offers an opportunity to obtain a permanent contract within the school.
The Role:
- Provide one-to-one support for a pupils with SEMH needs.
- Implement strategies to help this student manage their emotions and behaviour effectively.
- Differentiate, ensuring that the learning content is accessible for the student.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting resilience and self-confidence.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs, ideally in a secondary or SEN school setting.
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children.
- Understanding of de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are advantageous but not essential.
- DBS certificate (on the update service) or willingness to obtain one.
All rates are inclusive of holiday pay
