Description
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist primary SEN school in Sutton Coldfield, for a full-time PMLD Teaching Assistant to start in September.
The school caters for pupils aged 4–11 with profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex medical needs, and sensory impairments. It is a well-resourced and highly supportive environment, with small class sizes and an excellent staff-to-pupil ratio.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with PMLD on a 1:1 or small-group basis
- Providing personal care, including feeding, toileting, and moving & handling
- Using hoists, standing frames, and other equipment confidently and safely
- Assisting with sensory programmes and communication aids
Requirements:
- Experience supporting pupils with PMLD or complex physical/medical needs
- Confident in delivering personal care and using moving and handling techniques
- Resilient, compassionate, and comfortable in a high-needs setting
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
- Available full-time from September
