Description
We seek a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) at a specialist school based in Sutton Coldfield. This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday), working alongside a skilled team to provide high-quality care and education to children with complex physical and sensory needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with PMLD, supporting their individual learning and care needs
- Assist with physical development activities, including Rebound Therapy and fine and gross motor skill sessions
- Support the implementation of sensory-based learning to promote engagement and communication
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and therapists to deliver tailored support plans
- Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting and moving & handling, where required
- Maintain a calm, nurturing and consistent environment for learners
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with PMLD or complex additional needs
- Knowledge of physical development strategies and sensory needs
- Comfortable with personal care and manual handling
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working in a SEN environment
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is essential
