We are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded special school in Sutton Coldfield. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team supporting pupils with a range of complex needs.

About the School:
The Bridge School caters for primary-aged pupils (ages 2–11) with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other associated needs including visual or hearing impairments and behavioural challenges. All pupils have EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and benefit from a highly individualised curriculum, including sensory and communication-focused learning pathways.

The school prides itself on creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment, with a strong emphasis on communication development and working in partnership with families to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting pupils within the classroom, helping deliver tailored education and care plans under the guidance of class teachers and school leaders. You will need to be proactive, adaptable, and confident working with children with complex needs, often using creative and sensory-based approaches to support learning.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • Proven experience working with primary-aged children with additional needs
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and/or working with sensory or communication-based learning
  • A compassionate and resilient approach with strong teamwork skills
