CERT Solutions are recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming special secondary school in Erdington, supporting pupils aged 11–16 years with a range of additional needs, including MLD, SLD, ASD, and some SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. All pupils have an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) in place.
As part of the school team, you will be actively involved in lessons covering life skills, personal development, and GCSE subjects, supporting students both academically and socially in reaching their full potential.
The role:
- Full-time, long-term position
- Working with secondary-aged students in small classes
- Supporting both group learning and individual needs
- Assisting with tailored activities to promote independence and personal growth
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN – ideally in a secondary school setting
- Relevant qualification (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN Support, or equivalent)
- Understanding of MLD, SLD, ASD and SEMH needs
- Patient, adaptable and able to build strong relationships with pupils
- Able to commit to a full-time role
