CERT Solutions are working with a large and highly regarded primary school in Harborne, who are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join their senior support team. This is a key leadership role, providing strategic and operational HR support to a diverse workforce within a busy educational environment.
The Role
Reporting to the School Business Manager and working closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders, the HR Manager will be responsible for the full employee lifecycle and the development of effective HR practices across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a values-led organisation and making a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and retention
- Provide expert advice on employee relations, absence management, disciplinaries and grievances
- Ensure compliance with employment law, safeguarding requirements and school policies
- Develop and review HR policies and procedures in line with best practice
- Oversee payroll liaison and HR systems, ensuring accurate and timely data
- Support leadership with workforce planning, staff wellbeing and professional development initiatives
About You
- Proven experience in an HR management role, ideally within education or the public sector
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
- CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience
- Confident communicator with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels
- Highly organised, discreet and able to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment
