CERT Solutions are working in partnership with an Outstanding secondary school that is based near Stourbridge who are looking for an English teacher from October 2025 for a maternity cover.
About the role
The role is a long term position as its covering an absent member of staff from October to July 2026. You will be required to teach KS3 and KS4. This may be the perfect opportunity for an ECT as well as well-established teacher.
A Bit about the school:
The school is a medium sized secondary based near Stourbridge (Roughly 30 minutes from Birmingham) The school has fantastic transport links with a direct train line a few minutes walk away as well as a large on site car park. They are rated Outstanding by Ofsted and are highly recommended.
Pay:
Paid to scale MPS1 – UPS3 (£162 – £251 per day PAYE) depending on your current pay grade
What you’ll Do:
- Plan and deliver engaging and innovative English lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Supportive classroom environment that encourages students to thrive academically and personally.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to contribute to the school’s vibrant academic community.
- Be a mentor and guide for students, nurturing their curiosity and love for English language & literature.
Requirements:
- A recognized teaching qualification with a focus on English (Bachelor’s in Education, PGCE, or QTS or QTLS).
- A strong background in English teaching and a deep understanding of the curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a drive to continually improve teaching practices.
- Relevant teaching experience, preferably in a secondary school setting.
