CERT Solutions are working with a large secondary school in North Birmingham who require a full-time Design & Technology Teacher to join their outstanding faculty.
The role is a full time position covering an absent member of staff. You will be required to teach KS3 and KS4. This may be the perfect opportunity for an ECT as well as well-established teacher.
The school is a large secondary based near Handsworth area of Birmingham. They are rated Good by Ofsted and have great transport links as well as onsite parking.
Start Date: November 2025 (After Oct half term)
The role will continue, full time for the remainder of the academic year.
Pay:
Paid to scale MPS1 – UPS3 (£162 – £251 per day PAYE) depending on your current pay grade
What you’ll Do:
- Plan and deliver engaging and innovative KS3 & 4 DT lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Supportive classroom environment that encourages students to thrive academically and personally.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to contribute to the school’s vibrant academic community.
- Be a mentor and guide for students, nurturing their curiosity and love for Design & Technology.
Requirements:
- A recognized teaching qualification with a focus on Design Tech (Bachelor’s in Education, PGCE, or QTS or QTLS).
- A strong background in DT, Design and a deep understanding of the curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a drive to continually improve teaching practices.
- Relevant teaching experience, preferably in a secondary school setting.
