Assistant Headteacher required for a special educational needs school near Coventry, starting in September 2025 on a long term basis with a chance of perm contract!
CERT Solutions are a family run 5* education agency, specialising in flexible day cover, short/long term assignments, as well as permanent contracts within schools across Birmingham/Sandwell/Dudley and surrounding areas.
We are currently working with a SEN setting (11-19yrs) local to Coventry who require an Assistant Head/SENCO to join the team to help manage a small independent SEN school on a long term (or temp-perm) basis.
The school is situated in beautiful grounds with access to gardens and paddocks along with a range of domestic animals, reptiles, ponies and livestock which support the settings academic, social and emotional curriculum.
The desired candidate will have knowledge of supporting children and young people with complex anxiety associated with autism spectrum disorder and/or early trauma. All of the children will have an education, health and care plan (EHCP).
The school have stated that the desired candidate must have experience in a similar role/setting and unfortunately no sponsorships are currently available for this role (or any of our others via our agency).
This position would be 5 days per week and daily pay rates will depend on your pay scale/experience but the schools can usually pay a range from around £180-£280 per day. (rate will be agreed based upon experience)

What we need from you:
- Previous experience working in a SEN school
- National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO) or the newer National Professional Qualification (NPQ)
- PGCE with QTS/QTLS
- Available to work 5 days per week from September
- Full Enhanced DBS on update service (we can process one if required)
- Happy to get registered to enable us to share your details with schools/book trials
