CERT Solutions are working in partnership with a secondary school based near Hall Green who are looking for an Academic Coach/ Tutor who can support sixth form students. The role will be full time, starting ASAP and will be an ongoing position with a view of going perm from September 2026.
About the role
The role is a long term, full time, working from 8:30 to 4pm Monday to Friday. The role itself is to support in the schools Sixth Form students, supervise their activities and help with general studies, revision etc. The school are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, however are willing to wait for the right candidate. During quiet periods, or if the school are struggling for general cover across the school, they may require you to cover lessons like a cover supervisor.

The school is a large secondary based in the South side of Birmingham near Hall Green. They are rated Good by Ofsted and have great transport links as well as onsite parking.
Pay:
This roles pay is dependent on experience and qualifications. They have specified that the starting rate will be £120 per day and the top end of the rate will be £150 per day.

- Foster a Positive Atmosphere: Maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, encouraged, and ready to learn.
- Active Assessment: Monitor student engagement and progress throughout the day, providing constructive feedback
- Collaborate & Integrate: Work seamlessly with fellow educators and support staff, contributing to the school’s vibrant community and professional standards.
- Inspire & Guide: Act as a positive role model and mentor, nurturing students’ curiosity and encouraging a genuine love for learning
Requirements:
- A recognized qualification with a focus on Education – Degree or higher (Bachelor’s in Education, PGCE, or QTS or QTLS).
- A strong background in education and at least 6 months experience working within a secondary school
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a drive to continually improve teaching practices.
- Relevant teaching experience, preferably in a secondary school setting.
