We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming special school in Handsworth, supporting a KS3 pupil with Autism and complex needs on a 1:1 basis.

The Role:

This is a full-time, long-term position, working closely with a pupil who requires consistent, calm, and tailored support throughout the school day. The student can display behaviours that are challenging at times and requires someone with patience, emotional resilience, and a strong understanding of ASC.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the student within the classroom and during unstructured times
  • Helping the pupil engage with a bespoke curriculum
  • Supporting regulation and emotional needs using consistent strategies
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement the EHCP
  • Contributing to a positive, structured, and safe environment for learning

What We’re Looking For:

  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification (Supporting Teaching & Learning, Health & Social Care or similar)
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with ASC and/or complex needs
  • A confident, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting SEN
  • Comfortable supporting personal care if needed
  • Available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
