CERT Solutions are seeking a committed and resilient 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream primary school in Edgbaston. This is a long-term, full-time role starting as soon as possible.
The Role:
You will work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 4 child with ADHD and challenging behaviour, providing consistent support to help them access learning and manage their behaviour positively within the classroom and wider school environment. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and behaviour support staff to implement agreed strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Support the child to remain engaged, focused, and regulated in lessons
- Implement behaviour management strategies and support plans
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social skills
- Support learning across the curriculum under teacher guidance
- Build a strong, trusting relationship with the child
- Work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children with ADHD and/or challenging behaviour
- Relevant Mininum Level 2 or 3 qualification
- Calm, patient, and confident in managing behaviour positively
- Able to set clear boundaries while maintaining a nurturing approach
- Resilient, reliable, and consistent
- Previous school-based experience preferred
