CERT Solutions are working with a welcoming primary school in Balsall Heath seeking a dedicated Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team.
As a Teaching Assistant in this vibrant Year 2 class, you’ll support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, help manage classroom behaviour, and provide tailored support to pupils to ensure every child reaches their potential. You’ll work closely with children on both a one-to-one and small group basis, assisting with literacy, numeracy, and social development.
This is a full time role, to start after October half term and ongoing for the academic year.
Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson preparation.
- Provide targeted intervention and individual support to pupils who need extra help.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist in monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to the teacher.
- Supervise children during break and lunch times when required.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting pupils in a primary school setting, ideally in Key Stage 1.
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach to learning support.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
