CERT Solutions are working with a fantastic autism-specific special school in Erdington, who are looking for a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 primary class full-time.
This is a wonderful opportunity to join a supportive and experienced team where you’ll play a key role in helping pupils with autism access learning, build communication skills and develop confidence in the classroom.
📍 Location: Erdington, Birmingham
📅 Start Date: ASAP
🕒 Type: Full-time | Long-term | Ongoing
In this role, you’ll:
- Work closely with the class teacher to support a KS2 class
- Support pupils with autism in both academic and emotional development
- Use communication tools such as PECS or Makaton (training can be provided)
- Provide consistent, structured, and nurturing support throughout the day
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with autism and SEN
- A calm, patient, and caring approach
- Ability to work as part of a close-knit team
- A relevant childcare or support qualification is desirable
- SEN school or similar setting experience is highly valued
