CERT Solutions are working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Aston that has a specialist resource base for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The school prides itself on providing inclusive education and high-quality tailored support to ensure every child thrives — both academically and emotionally.

The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the resource base team on a long-term, full-time basis. You will:

  • Support pupils with autism in small groups and 1:1 settings within the resource base and the wider school environment.
  • Deliver tailored interventions and assist with differentiated learning activities.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and therapists to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Promote independence, communication, and positive behaviour.
  • Lead small group sessions and cover lessons where required.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds HLTA status or equivalent higher-level TA qualification.
  • Has proven experience working within a special school, SEN provision, or resource base – particularly with children with autism (ASC).
  • Demonstrates a calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
  • Is confident supporting communication and sensory regulation strategies.
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a supportive team.
