A welcoming all-through SEN school in Aston is searching for a committed Learning Support Assistant to start after October half term on a full time basis.

The school supports pupils aged 4–19 with Autism and additional learning needs, providing a structured and nurturing environment where students can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work across different key stages, tailoring your support to meet the needs of both younger children and older learners as they prepare for adulthood.

Your role will include supporting students in lessons, promoting independence, and encouraging positive social interaction. You’ll also play a vital part in helping pupils develop life skills, communication, and confidence for the future.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism in education settings
  • A level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or Health and Social Care qualification
  • Understanding of Autism strategies (PECS, TEACCH, Makaton) desirable
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils of different ages
  • Adaptability and patience in both primary and secondary classroom settings
  • Willingness to support pupils with a wide range of needs and abilities
  • Available for full-time, long-term work
