Are you a patient, caring, and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting pupils with complex needs?
We are seeking an experienced PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary provision in Sutton Coldfield.

You will be working with pupils aged 2 – 11 with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), some of whom may also have additional medical, sensory, and physical needs. Every day will be different, but every day you will make a real difference.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
  • Assisting with personal care, mobility, and feeding where required
  • Supporting sensory-based learning, life skills, and therapy programmes
  • Helping pupils to communicate and engage using a variety of methods (e.g. switches, symbols, Makaton)
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide a safe and inclusive environment

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with pupils with PMLD or complex needs (essential)
  • Is comfortable with personal care and moving & handling
  • Has patience, resilience, and a compassionate nature
  • Holds a relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in education, childcare, or health & social care
