Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children with Autism? We are currently recruiting for a full-time ASC specialist TA to join a welcoming and supportive special school in the Handsworth area.
The Role:
This is a long-term position supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) across various age groups. The role involves working 1:1 and in small groups, helping children with communication, emotional regulation, and learning tasks. Many of the pupils have additional sensory needs and may display challenging behaviours, so a calm, resilient, and adaptable approach is key.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with autism
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Comfortable with personal care
- A patient, nurturing attitude and the ability to build strong relationships
- Relevant SEN qualification or training (e.g. Level 2 or 3 TA, Team Teach, PECS, Makaton) is essential
- Able to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
