Teaching Assistant – September Start | Erdington
Location: Erdington, Birmingham
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: £90–£100 per day (depending on experience)
Position Type: Full-time, long-term (Mon–Fri)

We are working closely with  a well-established  special school based in Erdington, to recruit a committed and reliable Teaching Assistant for a long-term role starting in September.

It is a secondary special school that supports pupils aged 11–19 with a range of needs, including ASC, MLD, and social and emotional challenges. The school is known for its nurturing environment, excellent staff support, and focus on tailored learning.

The Role:

  • Supporting students with a range of additional needs across Key Stages 3–5
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups to help pupils access learning and regulate behaviour
  • Collaborating with class teachers, SENCOs and therapists
  • Providing a consistent, calm and encouraging presence in the classroom
  • Assisting with personal care or sensory support (where needed)

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with pupils with SEN (ASC, MLD, SEMH) is essential
  • Confident, resilient, and calm in a special school setting
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or SEND) is highly desirable
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
  • Available full-time from September
