Description
We are working with a specialist Autism school in Handsworth that is currently expanding to become an all-age provision for pupils aged 4 to 16. This transformation is rooted in the school’s belief in the importance of continuity, stability, and long-term support for children with ASD.
This is a full-time, long-term role starting from September 2025, ideal for someone looking to make a lasting impact in a supportive and structured environment.
The Role:
- Supporting children with Autism across a range of ages and abilities
- Working closely with teaching staff and therapists to implement EHCP targets
- Encouraging independence, communication and social development
- Providing consistency and care in a calm, autism-friendly environment
Key Details:
- Location: Handsworth, Birmingham
- Start Date: September 2025
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Pay: £90–£100 per day (dependent on experience)
- Contract: Long-term through agency, with potential for permanent placement
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people with Autism
- Confident, calm and consistent in approach
- Holds a relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification
- Familiar with EHCPs and autism-specific strategies (e.g. PECS, visual timetables)
