CERT Solutions are working with a fantastic special school near the Handsworth area of Birmingham, and we’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Male SEN Support Worker to join their team full-time from September.
You’ll be supporting a KS2 class of pupils with Autism, providing both learning support and essential care. This role involves supporting personal care and entering male changing rooms during swimming sessions, so a male support worker is required for this specific post.
✨ In this role, you’ll:
- Support students with Autism in a KS2 classroom
- Assist with personal care routines and swimming sessions
- Use PECS and basic Makaton to aid communication
- Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils
- Work closely with a skilled and supportive classroom team
✨What we’re looking for:
- Male support worker required due to care responsibilities
- Previous experience in a special school setting
- Confident supporting pupils with Autism and Complex Needs
- Familiar with PECS and basic Makaton (or willing to learn)
- A relevant childcare qualification is essential
- Must be reliable with excellent punctuality and a calm, patient nature
