CERT Solutions are working with a fantastic secondary school in South Birmingham who require a full-time Science Teacher. Ideally a teacher who is happy to cover all science subjects from KS3 to KS4.
About the role
Start Date: September 2025
End date: Easter 2026 (Minimum)
The role is a long term position as it’s covering an absent member of staff on maternity leave. You will be required to teach KS3 and KS4. Full teacher role, marking and planning will be required. This may be the perfect opportunity for an ECT as well as well-established teacher.

The school is a large secondary based in the South side of Birmingham near Kings Norton. They are rated Good by Ofsted and have great transport links.
Pay:
Paid to scale MPS1 – UPS3 (£162 – £251 per day PAYE) depending on your current pay grade
What you’ll Do:
- Plan and deliver engaging and innovative Science lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Supportive classroom environment that encourages students to thrive academically and personally.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to contribute to the school’s vibrant academic community.
- Be a mentor and guide for students, nurturing their curiosity and love for Science.
Requirements:
- A recognized teaching qualification with a focus on Science (Bachelor’s in Education, PGCE, or QTS or QTLS).
- A strong background in Physics, Chemistry or Biology and a deep understanding of the curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a drive to continually improve teaching practices.
- Relevant teaching experience, preferably in a secondary school setting.
